Job Summary
PCT role aboard the dialysis health care team performing setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, patient education on adequacy measures, vascular access evaluation and cannulation, monitoring and documenting treatment parameters (QB, QD, UF goals), vital signs, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment under RN supervision. Requires high school diploma or GED, CMS/state certifications, licensure as applicable, and completion of dialysis training with CPR. Key duties include pre/post-treatment vitals, documentation, infection-control practices, staff training support, transition care activities, lab specimen handling, and ensuring safety alarms and CQI participation. Travel between facilities may be required; color vision testing may be required; physical demands include lifting up to 40 lbs and frequent standing. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred
- Successful completion of the organization dialysis training program and CPR certification
