Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team to provide safe, effective dialysis therapy under supervision. Responsible for setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe/clean environment, and contributing to CQI activities and patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and disease processes. Duties include patient intake and wellbeing checks, vascular access evaluation and cannulation, administration of heparin as allowed, obtaining vital signs and weights, initiating dialysis per orders (QB, QD), monitoring responses to therapy, documenting treatment data, ensuring safety alarms, and assisting with training of direct patient care staff. Requires high school diploma or GED, CMS/state/national certification and licensure as applicable, and completion of the organization dialysis training program; prior patient care experience preferred; CPR certification required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required
- Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards
- Fresenius Medical Care training program completion may be required
- CPR certification required or successful completion of CPR certification
