Job Summary
Provides dialysis care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, vascular access cannulation, and administration of heparin. Performs pre/post-treatment vital signs and weight, initiates dialysis per orders, monitors patient response, records treatment data, and conducts machine safety checks. Maintains a safe, clean environment, participates in CQI activities, and supports education for patients on adequacy measures and disease processes. Requires a high school diploma or GED, CMS/state certification, and applicable licensure; may involve travel between facilities. Demonstrates proficiency in infection control, documentation, and teamwork within a dialysis unit.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
