Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team in providing safe dialysis therapy under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for setup and operation of hemodialysis machines; assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment; provide patient-specific education on adequacy measures; evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation; monitor and document vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; initiate dialysis per orders and manage intradialytic issues; ensure accurate recording of treatment data and reporting changes to the RN or supervisor; reinforce infection control practices and participate in CQI activities; assist with transitional care and patient education on home dialysis options; includes training of direct patient care staff and coordination of patient care within the unit.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- Demonstrated CPR certification (requirements to be completed per organization dialysis training program)
