Job Summary
Provides safe, effective dialysis patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe/clean environment, and contributing to CQI activities. Delivers patient-specific education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and assists with treatment initiation, monitoring of vital signs and weights, vascular access evaluation, cannulation, heparin administration as allowed, and documentation of treatment data. Maintains infection control practices, prepares laboratory specimens, supports transitional care and home-dialysis introductions, and adheres to organizational policies. Requires high school diploma or GED and state CMS-certified licensure; CPR certification and successful completion of dialysis training program prior to continued employment. Travel between assigned facilities may be required. Fresenius Medical Care emphasizes equal opportunity employment.
