Job Summary
Provide setup and operation of hemodialysis machines as part of the dialysis healthcare team under nurse supervision; assist in patient education on adequacy measures and disease processes; monitor vital signs and weight, evaluate vascular access, cannulate as needed, administer heparin as delegated, and initiate dialysis treatment per orders. Maintain safe, clean environment; document treatment data; perform infection control and CQI activities; train and support direct patient care staff; ensure laboratory specimens collection and processing; and participate in transition care and patient education regarding home dialysis options.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
