Job Summary
PCT role: functions as part of the dialysis health care team under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitoring patient condition, obtaining vital signs, evaluating vascular access, initiating dialysis as prescribed, documenting treatment parameters on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet, and ensuring safety and infection-control practices. Provides patient education on adequacy measures and participates in CQI activities to support quality goals. Requires a high school diploma or GED and CMS/state certification as applicable; training provided. Travel between assigned facilities may be required; operates in a health-care environment with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and patient care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
