Job Summary
Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy as part of the dialysis health care team under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Set up and operate hemodialysis machines; monitor patient condition, vascular access patency, prescribed blood flow and dialysate flow; obtain vital signs and perform pre/post-treatment assessments; document treatment data and report changes to RN/supervisor. Educate patients on adequacy measures and participate in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. Requires a High School diploma or GED and CMS/state licensure/certification as applicable; on-the-job dialysis training with potential pay increases and RN tuition reimbursement. On-site, in-person patient care at the Jackson Heights, NY facility; CPR certification and state licensure required; travel and infection-control responsibilities are included as part of routine duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred
- Successful completion of the organization dialysis training program and CPR certification
