Job Summary
Setup and operate hemodialysis machines for dialysis therapy; welcome patients, monitor treatment parameters, and evaluate vascular access; perform cannulation, administer heparin as allowed; record and document pre/post-treatment vital signs, weight, and treatment data; ensure safety, infection control, and environmental standards; participate in CQI activities and patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) as described; provide patient education and assist with orientation to treatment options including home dialysis and transitional care; collaborate with RN and supervisor to address intra-dialytic issues, alarms, and abnormal findings; maintain equipment, prepare labs, and support cross-functional training of staff; comply with organization policies and regulatory requirements; travel between assigned facilities as needed; physical demands include lifting and assisting patients with mobility and equipment, with two-person assist as available.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- Demonstrated CPR certification (preferred/required by program)
