Job Summary
Performs setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, cannulation of vascular access, and monitoring of patients during dialysis under RN supervision. Provides patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and participates in CQI activities to meet Quality Enhancement Goals. Maintains safety and sanitation of the dialysis environment, documents treatment parameters and vital signs, coordinates with nurses and supervisors, supports staff training, and assists with infection control and transition care activities. Requires high school level education, applicable state or CMS certifications, CPR, and completion of dialysis training; travel between facilities is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification
- All appropriate state licensure, education and training (if any)
- Demonstrated CPR certification
- Successful completion of organization dialysis training program
- Ability to pass Ishihara Color Blindness test if required by facility policy
