Job Summary
Performs setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitors patient status, administers heparin as delegated, cannulates vascular access, records treatment data, initiates dialysis treatment with prescribed QB/QD, and conducts pre/post-treatment evaluations. Ensures safety through alarm monitoring and proper documentation; maintains clean, safe environment; participates in education for patients on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and supports quality improvement activities. Provides staff training under RN supervision, adheres to infection control policies, and coordinates transitions in patient care, including transition to home dialysis options when applicable. Requires high school diploma or GED and CMS-approved licensure/certification; CPR certification and dialysis training program completion are prerequisites; hospital/clinic exposure preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- CPR certification (preferred or required as part of program completion)
