Job Summary
Patient Care Technician (PCT)Role focused on supporting dialysis treatment delivery: sets up and operates hemodialysis machines under RN supervision; assists in vascular access assessment and cannulation; administers heparin as delegated; records vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; initiates dialysis per orders (QB, QD) and monitors patient response; ensures safe, clean environment and adherence to infection control; documents treatment data and communicates changes to nursing staff; participates in CQI activities and patient education regarding adequacy measures and disease processes; requires high school diploma or GED and state/certification licensure; may require CPR certification and dialysis training program completion; role involves travel between facilities and direct patient care in a health care setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- State licensure, education, and training as applicable
- CPR certification (as applicable)
