Job Summary
Provide dialysis patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitoring patient status, obtaining pre/post-treatment vitals, managing vascular access cannulation, administering heparin as allowed, and documenting treatment data. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment, infection control practices, patient education on dialysis adequacy measures, participation in CQI activities, and assisting with instruction of direct patient care staff under RN supervision. Must meet CMS/state licensure requirements and have a High School diploma or GED; CPR certification preferred. Travel between facilities may be required; role involves handling and preparing lab specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate treatment records.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
