Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe/clean environment, and supporting CQI activities. Provides patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM) and disease processes, evaluates vascular access, performs cannulation and heparin administration as allowed, obtains vital signs and weights, initiates dialysis per orders, monitors patient response, documents treatment data, and participates in infection control and transitional care activities. Requires CMS/state licensure, and completion of dialysis training with CPR certification; prior patient care experience preferred. Travel between facilities may be required; physical demands include heavy lifting and frequent standing. Fresenius Medical Care is an equal opportunity employer. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
- CPR certification (as part of dialysis training program)
