Job Summary
Provide basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with feeding, grooming, and mobility. Measure vital signs, perform personal care and hygiene, and use therapeutic transfer techniques to foster patient independence. Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes or concerns while delivering high-level customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Document patient care accurately and timely, participating in hand-off reports for pertinent departmental information. Obtain BLS certification and complete nursing aide training or CNA certification prior to direct patient care.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- Successful completion of nursing aide training program
- Successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide (required if OH LTC)
- CNA Certified Nurse Aide
- Nurses Aide state testing
- Completed a nursing program that had one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation
- One year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
Desired Qualifications
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility, with a preference for the setting in which they are applying
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
