Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team under direct supervision of a licensed nurse to provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy. Responsible for setup and operation of dialysis machines, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and participating in CQI activities. Provides patient-specific education on adequacy measures, monitors treatment parameters (QB, QD), cannulates vascular access, administers heparin as delegated, records pre/post treatment vitals and treatment data, and reports changes to the RN or supervisor. Includes infection control practices, preparation of lab specimens, and assistance with patient transition and education regarding dialysis options. Requires High School diploma or GED and CMS/state licensure/certification; CPR certification preferred. Salary range noted as hourly pay between $24 and $28, with location-based variation, and benefits described.
