Patient Care Technician Part Time Nights

Job Summary
The PCT will perform a variety of bedside patient care tasks in the Orthopedic Unit, including hygiene, skin care, mobility, monitoring, phlebotomy and EKGs, equipment management, administering treatments, wound care, and assisting clinicians. Responsibilities include accurate vital signs measurement, documentation, patient assistance with elimination needs, specimen handling, and collaboration with RNs and the care team to ensure timely and safe patient care. Requires CPR/BLS certification and either PCT training or CNA training; HS diploma or GED required for higher levels of the role. Shift is nights, part-time with every other weekend/holiday as required; location is Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- PCT training or CNA training preferred
- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required
- CPR-American Heart Association BLS required
- Ability to read and write in English
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Competency in patient care tasks
- Experience in an Orthopedic unit or similar setting (preferred)
