Job Summary
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or LPN, the Patient Care Technician supports patients' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Key responsibilities involve taking vital signs, assisting with point of care testing, and documenting patient care. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, completed a relevant training course, and be certified in BLS. Strong communication skills and the ability to identify changes in patient status are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care
- BLS certification
