Job Summary
Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Medical Surgical Unit (M3) at Lowell General Hospital. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, procedures, and tests taught in formal training; taking vital signs and weights; aiding patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while maintaining privacy and safety; assisting with meals and feeds; responding to call lights; providing hygienic care and basic wound/skin care; assisting with ostomy pouching and skin care; administering hot/cold applications; applying supportive devices; managing allergy and medication lists; and supporting overall patient care in a fast-paced orthopedics-focused unit. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification; CNA or equivalent and additional skills (EKG, Phlebotomy) are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent (preferred)
- Three years experience in health care or nursing services (preferred)
- Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
