Job Summary
Monitor vital signs, measure blood glucose, and record intake and output while assisting patients with bathing, grooming, and eating under RN supervision. Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional changes immediately. Maintain clean patient rooms, answer call lights and intercoms with appropriate etiquette, and manage unit workflow with the charge RN. Perform pre-census and validate daily admission and discharge lists. Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and critical thinking to prioritize unit work as patient and staff needs change. Serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must complete background check authorization and disclosure form
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program
- Graduate of Phlebotomy course
