Job Summary
Monitor vital signs, take blood glucose measurements, and record intake and output while performing basic nursing care activities under RN supervision. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms, manage unit workflow with the charge RN, and validate daily admission, discharge, and census lists. Answer telephone, intercom, and call lights using appropriate etiquette to communicate with staff, family, and patients. Serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program
- Must comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards
- Must complete a background check that includes criminal history
- Must complete an authorization and disclosure form for the background check
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program
- Graduate of Phlebotomy course
