Job Summary
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care; communicates with and supports the healthcare team, patients and families. Performs duties such as vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, Foley catheter care, and may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified. Maintains standards of professional ethics and participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities; assists in orientation of new hires.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required
- PCT course
- fundamentals nursing course in an RN program
- Certified Nursing Assistant program
- or equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care
- BLS certification
- Phlebotomy training/education for Emergency Department positions
