Patient Care Technician II - 10AC Orthopedics - AGH - Full Time Nights

Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and assist RNs with acutely ill patients by performing activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, conducting phlebotomy, and performing simple dressing changes. Document all treatments, EKGs, and intake/output in the electronic medical record while maintaining a clean, safe environment through hourly rounding and infection control protocols. Coordinate unit activities including patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and supply stocking. Work nights under the supervision of a Charge Nurse or Care Team Leader, precepting newly hired staff and reporting changes in patient conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School/GED
- Experience as a PCA
- Experience as a PCT
- Experience as a NA
- Experience as an LPN
- Experience as an EMT
- Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM)
- Military experience as a Combat medic (68W)
- Military experience as a Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
- 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility
- Enrolled in an Associate's in Nursing (halfway through program)
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's in Nursing (Junior year) program
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient in Phlebotomy
- Proficient in straight catherization
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting
- Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Compliance with Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Adherence to company policies and training requirements
