Job Summary
Provide direct personal hygienic care, including bathing and feeding, while assisting patients with activities of daily living. Perform bedside glucose monitoring, collect and label specimens, and accurately document vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure. Conduct wound and ostomy care, perform electrocardiograms, and maintain feeding tubes under RN direction. Retrieve blood from the Blood Bank, ensure code cart readiness, and respond promptly to patient call lights. Monitor patients for pain or condition changes, administer interventions as directed, and perform post-mortem care. Adhere to Joint Commission standards and CentraState policies while supporting operations by floating between units as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year nursing assistant healthcare experience
- Successful completion of an approved CNA or PCT approved training course
- Currently enrolled in a degreed nursing program AND completed an introductory nursing course such as Nursing 101 or equivalent
- Completed a semester of a school sponsored clinical rotation in an acute setting
- CPR Certification
