Job Summary
Patient Care Technician I provides psychosocial support and assists with clinical trial participation for individuals with psychiatric diagnoses. Works under moderate supervision to assess participants’ psychosocial needs, de-escalate when upset, assist with activities of daily living, meals, medication dispensing as authorized, discharge planning, transportation coordination, and documentation across the Clinical Research Unit. Collaborates with the treatment team, maintains adherence to protocol-specific dietary/smoking restrictions, and helps build relationships with external agencies to support participants’ services. Requires strong teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in an on-site clinical environment. Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalency, with 0-2 years in healthcare and effective verbal/written communication; flexible schedule and adherence to FDA CFR, ICH, GCP, CenExel SOPs, and site policies.
