Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and coordinate unit activities for stable and acutely ill patients under Registered Nurse supervision. Perform activities of daily living, obtain vital signs, collect specimens, monitor blood glucose, and transport patients while documenting all care in the electronic medical record. Participate in quality initiatives including hourly rounding, falls prevention, and isolation protocols to maintain a safe environment. Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while assisting with unit upkeep and equipment cleaning. Work a night shift in the behavioral health unit at Jefferson Hospital, adhering to all hospital policies and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Basic computer skills
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- HIPAA compliance
- Code of Business Conduct adherence
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Company policies and training requirements compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience with in the last 3 years
- Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program
- Enrolled in Associates or Bachelor's degree Nursing programs
- Completed at least one clinical rotation
