Job Summary
Patient Care Technician I provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include communicating patient care needs, adhering to SRH Nursing Services policies and Standard Work, and performing duties as requested by the Nurse Manager or Department Director. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and various certification pathways (including SC Nursing Aide, EMT, Surg Tech, or nursing assistant program). Must achieve certification within 3 months of hire (if applicable). BLS certified. Part-time, night shift, on-site in Greenwood, SC.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed 2-year Health Science Technology Program OR completed Patient Care Tech course OR successfully completed the SRH PCT program
- Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program, certification eligible
- BLS certified
- If PCT II: worked in at least 2 units independently; delivered one in-service or participated in one special project; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor if needed
- If PCT III: worked in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles; delivered/participated in two in-services and/or special projects; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor
