Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and activities of daily living for stable patients, including obtaining vital signs, performing skin surveys, assisting with ambulation, collecting specimens, and monitoring blood glucose. Document all treatments and care in the electronic medical record while reporting changes in patient conditions to nursing staff. Coordinate unit activities by managing patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, and participate in quality initiatives such as hourly rounding and infection control protocols. Perform general unit upkeep through supply stocking and equipment cleaning. Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse with specific assignments from the Charge Nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Basic computer skills
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience with in the last 3 years
- Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program
- Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor's degree Nursing programs
- Completed at least one clinical rotation
