Job Summary
Set up hemodialysis machines, greet patients, and collect treatment details while reporting concerns to lead nurses. Assist with vascular access preparation, initiate and monitor dialysis treatment per policies, and obtain vital signs before, during, and after sessions. Document fluid removal, perform access cannulation, and monitor for adverse reactions or machine malfunctions. Maintain patient safety by assisting with personal care needs, activities of daily living, and responding to emergency situations while adhering to infection control protocols. This role involves heavy lifting, extended standing, and exposure to blood and bodily fluids. You will acknowledge inter-facility coverage policies and complete extensive training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer knowledge
- 6 Months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience
- Successful completion of the Health Systems Management training program
- The ability to work long hours
- Flexible schedule to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months following the first day of employment
- Basic Life Support certification approved by the American Heart Association
- Comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation, and obtaining labs
- Pass the Ishihara's Color Blind Test
- Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 pounds and high as five feet
- Must be able to walk, bend, stretch, and stand for considerable time
- Must acknowledge the inter-facility coverage policy that supports floating to various clinics during and after training
