Patient Care Technician: Full Time Nights

Job Summary

Prioritize and deliver basic bedside care including bathing, toileting, feeding, and grooming. Perform and document vital signs, measure intake and output, collect specimens, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics. Report observed changes in patient condition to nursing personnel and assist in preparing units and rooms for admissions. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by removing unused supplies and adhering to infection prevention standards. Respond promptly to patient and family calls, designate applicable charges, and complete required trainings. This full-time night shift role requires a current BLS license, two years of inpatient experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. ClearSky Health is opening a new medical rehabilitation hospital at this location.

Required Qualifications

  • Current BLS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting
  • Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization
  • A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time
  • Both gross and precise motor functions
  • Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids
  • Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care
  • Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies
  • Must maintain regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule
  • Must complete required trainings, as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred
  • 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting preferred
