Job Summary
Patient Care Technician role (Full Time Days) supporting care teams by attending to daily living, clinical and safety needs of patients, performing non-professional patient care activities, assisting licensed nursing associates, and documenting care; conducts vital signs, I&O, EKGs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, and skin integrity checks; supports RN and acts as a preceptor for PCTs; collaborates with team, participates in patient care rounds, and helps with orientation and competency checks; requires High School Diploma or Equivalent and American Heart Association Heart Saver certification; healthcare environment with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and compassionate patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- HEART SAVER - American Heart Association certification required
- 1-3 years clinical support experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years clinical support preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- MS Office Suite experience (preferred)
- prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
- Ability to read, write and understand verbal or written instructions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)
