Patient Care Technician - Float Pool

Job Summary
Under direct supervision, provide patient-focused care in a hospital setting as a Patient Care Technician on the Float Pool. Responsibilities include 1:1 patient observation for suicide prevention, elopement, and prevention of medical device dislodgement; hygiene care (bathing, oral care, toileting, incontinence care); bladder scanning; assisting with ambulation and mobility; monitoring vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, SpO2); assisting with feeding; participating in Basic Life Support (BLS) interventions under supervision of a bedside RN and charge nurse; contributing to a safe and hazard-free environment and clear communication of patient needs. Shift pattern includes 3 12-hour shifts per week (7am-7:30pm or 7am-7:30pm) with rotating weekends and holidays. Required Qualifications
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology Course or Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire.
- 6 months Health care experience.
