Job Summary
Patient Care Technician duties (after on-the-job training) include 1:1 patient observation for suicide prevention/elopement prevention or prevention of medical device dislodgement, hygiene care (bathing, teeth brushing, toileting, incontinence care), bladder scanning, assisting with mobility and feeding, measuring vital signs, and participating in Basic Life Support interventions. The role operates in a hospital setting at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR, with part-time 12-hour shifts (3 shifts per schedule and rotating weekends/holidays). Required qualification at hire: National Provider BLS (American Heart Association). Preferred qualifications include Medical Terminology coursework or successful completion of a hospital medical terminology test within 90 days of hire and at least 6 months of healthcare experience.
