Job Summary
Conduct patient care tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse in assigned departments. Float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System hospital campuses as needed. Maintain active licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic, or hold a military medical specialty certification. Complete required Basic Life Support/CPR training. Submit proof of Florida CNA certification within 120 days if hired without prior licensure. Pass background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment
- Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN)
- Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN
- Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN
- Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Basic Life Support/CPR
