Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department provides hands-on functional patient support under RN/LPN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy and EKGs when certified, and applying standard precautions including isolation care to support patient care plans and family education; requires strong communication, basic care skills, and ongoing professional development in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have completed a PCT course, RN fundamentals nursing course or CNA program, or have ~1 year direct patient care experience
- BLS certification
- Phlebotomy training/education is required for Emergency Department positions
