Job Summary

Provide direct patient care to patients and families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse on a 0.6 FTE, 12-hour night shift. Perform duties including knowledge and handling of hospital equipment, record keeping, and reading, writing, and speaking in English. Maintain requirements to qualify for employment as a Nursing Technician or Patient Care Technician, ensuring current enrollment in an approved nursing program or completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Training. Overlake Medical Center, a 349-bed nonprofit regional medical center and Level III Trauma Center, offers tuition reimbursement up to $10,000 annually and medical insurance premiums as low as $0 per month.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training
  • Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C)
  • Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification
  • One year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer familiarity
  • Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment
  • Record keeping
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language
  • Nurse Technician licensed under chapter 18.79.350 RCW
  • Currently enrolled in good standing in a nursing program approved by the commission
  • Not graduated from the nursing program
  • High school graduate
  • Completion of at least one clinical quarter of documented nursing training
  • Current enrollment and satisfactory completion of required clinical quarters in a nursing education program approved by the state board of nursing
  • Written documentation of current level of education preparation and knowledge and skills
  • Remain in good standing with nursing program
  • Proof of current level of education preparation and knowledge and skills
  • Registered with the Washington State Nursing Commission as a Nursing Technician
  • BLS Health Care Provider CPR Certification
  • COVID-19 immunization
