Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician/CNA is responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Essential duties include prioritizing patient care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, documenting vital signs, transferring patients safely, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, current CNA certification, and at least 2 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting. Effective communication, critical thinking skills, and an understanding of infection prevention are essential for this role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting required
- Current state CNA certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Current AHA/ARC BLS certification
- Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics
- Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
