Job Summary
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse/LPN, assists with patients’ activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility/transport) and plan of care. Communicates with and supports the healthcare team, patients, and family. Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care specific to population served; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified. Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately. Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities. Assists in orientation of new hires.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required
- Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care
- BLS certification
- Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions
