Job Summary
This role involves providing direct patient care and assisting with non-direct patient care unit coordination. Responsibilities include performing basic nursing procedures, documenting patient care, assisting the RN with acutely ill patients, participating in quality initiatives, and performing duties related to patient admissions, discharges, and transfers. The position requires effective verbal and written communication, basic nursing knowledge, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Limited or no experience
- Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Basic computer skills
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience with in the last 3 years
- Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program
- Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor’s degree Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation
