Patient Care Technician - 5A Telemetry/Observation - AGH - Full Time

Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care for stable and acutely ill patients in the 5A Telemetry/Observation unit, including vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, and early mobilation protocols. Document all treatments and changes in patient condition in the electronic medical record while participating in quality initiatives like hourly rounding and falls prevention. Coordinate unit activities by assisting with patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and equipment cleaning under Registered Nurse supervision. Requires CPR certification, criminal background clearance, and ability to complete two weeks of training. Full-time employment with 2 weeks of onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Basic computer skills
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Acute care experience with in the last 3 years
- Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program
- Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor's degree Nursing programs
- Completed at least one clinical rotation
