Job Summary
Patient Care Technician in Medical Surgical Unit providing basic patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse. Duties include responding to call lights, performing ADLs, assisting with mobility and transfers, maintaining patient rooms, collecting specimens, documenting in medical records, monitoring vital signs and glucose, operating nursing and office equipment, ensuring patient safety, and supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers. Requires CNA coursework completion (or in-progress) and computer experience; position is 36 hours per week with shifts 6:30pm–7:00am and every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of C.N.A. course (or complete within four months of hire date)
- Required Computer experience
- Health care experience within the last five years
- Emergency First Response and Choking within 90 days of hire
- MOAB within 12 months of hire
- Restraint training completed after hire
- Certified Nursing Assistant within 120 Days Required
