Job Summary
Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical team members in a spinal cord injury unit. Collaborates with an interprofessional team and telehealth staff to facilitate and assist with telehealth encounters between patients and providers. Duties include communicating with and supporting the patient, family, and designated care partners; maintaining a safe patient care environment; managing supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations; conducting patient rounds and responding to call lights; may serve as a virtual safety associate as needed; may facilitate clinical exams using peripheral devices and telehealth software. Emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, with attention to physiological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. Requires High School Diploma/GED and knowledge of medical terminology; BLS/ACLS as applicable; ability to perform delegated tasks and effectively communicate with the interprofessional team.
