Job Summary
Patient Care Tech on Part Time Days at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Provides direct patient care and assists professional clinical staff with tasks such as personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, turning, feeding, dressing, elimination needs, and preparing patients for procedures; performs bedside glucose testing, measures vital signs, records entries in health records, responds to calls, and supports safety and comfort through proper patient handling and rounding. Responsibilities may vary by shift or unit; schedule includes 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with rotating weekends and holidays. Requires completion of mandated abuse reporting training within 3 months of hire and BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire. Requires minimum age of 16. Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire
