Job Summary
Answer call lights, observe and report patient status, and transport specimens through designated tubes. Transfer, move, and reposition patients while monitoring and recording vital signs such as heart rate, pulse, temperature, and blood pressure. Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and treatments, and make occupied and unoccupied beds. Maintain current certification knowledge and attend required safety training programs covering general, department, and job-related hazards. Respect the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Required Qualifications
- Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens
- frequent exposure to chemical hazards
- may encounter radiation hazards
- Must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for at least five hours per day
- close vision
- the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred
