Job Summary
Provide culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Alert medical staff to changes in patient conditions and operate equipment safely, including blood pressure and SCD machines. Assist patients with basic hygiene, hair, and oral care while collecting and transporting specimens for laboratory analysis. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and comply with safety, infection control, and performance improvement initiatives. Present a professional image to patients, families, and staff. Participate in performance improvement studies, attend in-service training, and meet continuing education requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma in General Studies or a GED state certification
- Up to six months of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS)
- Positive interpersonal communication skills
