Patient Care Tech (PCT) – Progressive Cardiac Care Unit – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital

Patient Care Tech Trainee provides direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated health care professional in a hospital setting. Core duties include basic patient care (care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal hygiene, mobility assistance), acting as a liaison between patient and nurse, delivering high-quality customer service to patients and families, accurate and timely documentation, and participating in hand-off reporting. Program is a temporary nurse aide training track designed to gain competency through supervision and on-the-job training. Preferred BLS certification upon hire and familiarity with infection prevention and healthcare safety standards; strong communication and proactive engagement in a rapidly changing clinical environment.
