Job Summary
Patient Care Tech (PCT) for a Medical/Surgical Unit in Elizabeth City, NC. Provides patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, supports admissions and discharge, and adheres to patient-safety practices. Observes patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports changes. Requires HS diploma or equivalent; multiple certification pathways (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or current clinical student with related RN/LPN/RT/PT experience). BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Full-time, day shift. unit handles a variety of medical/surgical cases including CHF, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, atrial fibrillation, chest pain; education supplemented by internal development opportunities and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification Program OR CNA OR NCMA OR NCPCT OR US Navy Hospital Corps School OR Emergency Services certifications including EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic OR current student enrolled in a clinical program with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience OR current work experience as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
- AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Education: One year of health care experience preferred
