Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Nurse, the Patient Care Tech performs delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of services that meet health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards. Requires BLS certification. Preferred candidates have prior patient care experience and education in a related health field (e.g., medical assistant program, EMT). Strong communication, organizational, time management, prioritization, analytical and critical thinking skills; detail-oriented with ability to meet strict time frames. Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.
- Previous patient care experience
- Completion of education in a related health field (medical assistant program, EMT certification, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Detail-oriented, able to meet strict time frames
