Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and technical assistance under nurse supervision, including preparing for admissions, transfers, and discharges. Manage clinical duties such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with hygiene, administering nutritional support, and collecting lab specimens. Perform non-clinical tasks like updating whiteboards, cleaning equipment, maintaining infection control, and entering orders into the computer system. Assist with procedures including cast application, suturing, IV management, and post-mortem care while prioritizing patient safety goals. Work night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with two 12-hour rotations weekly, including weekend participation, while maintaining confidentiality and communicating effectively with patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED OR be currently enrolled in a high school or GED program
- Hold a CNA license or have completed the Gold Standard Intern Program
- Have documentation of fundamentals of nursing courses
- Have a minimum of 18 months in a relevant patient care role
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- Must be available to work at least two weekdays (M-TH) each week year-round
- Must be available to participate in one weekend rotation per month
- Must be able to work two 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
- Must be able to effectively communicate using tact and sensitivity
- Must be self motivated and able to work and make decisions with limited supervision
- Must have a strong knowledge of emergency procedures
- Must be able to stay calm in stressful situations
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
