Job Summary
Teach didactic and/or clinical courses in PCT and CNA programs, serving as a nursing instructor for PCT/CNA tracks. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining course outlines/calendars, managing classroom activities, advising students, and delivering instruction across didactic and clinical settings. Requires current DC RN license, Master’s degree, and nursing-experience knowledge at the CNA level; teaching experience in PCT/CNA programs is preferred. Participate in curriculum development, attend program meetings, and recommend textbooks and learning resources. This is a full-time faculty role with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (unencumbered) for the District of Columbia
- Master’s degree is required
- Teaching experience in PCT and/or CNA programs preferred
- Minimum of two-three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Current knowledge of nursing practice at the nursing assistant level
- Teaches assigned courses/clinicals
- Ability to manage classroom and course activities in line with professional conduct
- Serves as an academic advisor and maintains office hours as designated by Trinity policy
- Develops and maintains course outlines/calendars and provides materials ahead of start date
- Maintains accurate class rosters and submits attendance as required by Chief Nursing Office/Assistant Director of Nursing
- Attends program meetings and workshops as scheduled
- Reviews and recommends textbooks and learning resources for classroom use
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through reading and professional development
- Able to work with students with disabilities and coordinate services
- Other duties as assigned
